CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A high pressure system continues to move across the area, bringing cooler temperatures and a big chill this weekend.
The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a frost advisory for the majority of the viewing area from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
Watauga and Ashe Counties are under a freeze warning.
Sensitive outdoor plants and vegetation should be covered to prevent death or damage.
Overnight temperatures are expected to be around 40, with some areas dipping into the upper 30s.
Temperatures will slowly recover through the weekend.
Saturday's high is forecast at 71 degrees with overnight lows in the 40s before return to mid-70s for the highs on Sunday.
