One killed in fiery Shelby crash, troopers say
SHELBY, NC (WBTV) - One person is dead after a fiery vehicle crash in Cleveland County.
The incident was reported just before noon Monday at U.S. 74 and Washburn Switch Road, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.
Troopers say 60 year old George Reid Hope of Shelby was killed.
Five vehicles total were involved in the accident. The highway reopened just before 6 p.m.
A school bus had stopped to let people out at a business, stopping traffic, according to troopers.
A vending truck heading west came over a hill and failed to stop for traffic.
