Kiwanis Club of Shelby recently held its Annual Christmas Party at Deer Brook Restaurant for area children in the community.
Entertainment was provided by Clem & Lisa Carter of Shelby who played Santa’s Magic Elves and entertained everyone with magic tricks and balloon animals. A special appearance by Santa Clause, who gave treat bags full of surprises and money to all the children, was the highlight of the evening.
Kiwanis Club of Shelby was chartered on September 28, 1922, and started the Cleveland County Fair in 1923. Kiwanis says it is committed to helping the children in their neighborhoods and communities, changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
Kiwanis Club of Shelby also supports 20 Children's programs throughout Cleveland County.
The Club meets every first and third Thursday at noon at Deer Brook Restaurant, and is open to men and women 18 years and older who want to serve their community and have a great time.
